Magic: the Gathering Destination Qualifier – Modern
On Saturday 26 July, Ropecon will host Magic: the Gathering Destination Qualifier – Modern tournament, with the top four players qualifying for the MTG European Championship in October. In addition, promo cards will be given out.
The tournament is suitable for players who have been playing the game for a little longer – competitors are expected to have mastered the basic rules and be relatively familiar with their own deck.
Time and place: Saturday 26 July 2025, at 10:00 in hall 5 C
Tournament Format
- Modern Constructed (Allowed Sets and Banned cards)
- Depending on the number of players, 6-8 Swiss rounds
- Round time 50 minutes
- After the Swiss rounds, the top 8 playoffs
- Competitive Rules Enforcement level
Prizes
- The top four will receive an invitation to the Ultimate Guard European Magic Series Regional Championship tournament in Antwerp 21–23.11.2025
- Foil winner promo for the top four
- For the best 64 a Non-Foil Promo
- For the best 128 a Foil Participant Promo
- Any other prizes will be announced later

Registration for the tournament is done through this link. Registration is open as long as there are places available.
To participate in the tournament, you will need the Companion app and a Wizards ID. For more information about Wizards IDs, please visit this link. You can get the Companion app here. Your Wizards ID email will be requested upon registration.
There is no separate entry fee for the tournament, but participants must have a ticket to Ropecon or otherwise be eligible for entry (e.g. through volunteer work). You can find more information about Ropecon tickets from Ropecon’s website or from the ticket store.
We recommend that you arrive in the tournament hall no later than 15 minutes before the tournament starts.
Decklists
Decklists are used in the tournament. Instructions on how to submit the decklist will be published later.
Card sleeves and other equipment
We recommend that you use new card sleeves for the tournament that are free of folds, scratches or dirt. A pen and paper are recommended for recording life totals. Also bring any counters your deck requires.
During the tournament
During the tournament, the judges answer questions about the rules and resolve any disputes. If you have any questions, feel free to call a judge!
The tournament may have a short lunch break.
