Boffered sword fighting

Ropecon hosts the official open Finnish Championships in boffered sword fighting. Participate or join to watch the gruesome tournament as the combatants fight for the legendary prize sword. The prize sword will be held by the victor (assuming hands still attached) until the next tournament. The arena is open for anyone to enter, from the rugged barbarians of Oulu to the fairer swordmaidens of Turku.

Registration opens on Friday, July 22th at 18:00 in the Ropecon event site. Registration will close on Saturday at 11:00. The preliminary official (1 vs 1) tournament timetable on Saturday by quarters is as follows: A 12:00, B 13:00, C 14:00, D 16:00 and in case of high amount of participants, E 16:00. Quarters in which each participant fight will be displayed in the event.

Finals and the team tournament will be held on Sunday. In case of bad weather or other unexpected delays in the quarter timetable changes will be announced in Con-TV, loudspeakers and by the information booth on the tournament news board.

The location of the tournament fights has changed from the last year. New location is the Alvar Plaza (Alvarin aukio) about 100 meters from Dipoli. Besides the tournaments, all boffered fighting will take place there.
