Board games

This year there is plenty of new things going on in the boardgame section without forgetting old traditions.

The Boardgame section will be in a great new location in the building called TF (also known as Täffä). TF is located right next to main building Dipoli.

In tournaments, it is again possible to compete for championship in Settlers of Catan and Carcassonne. There is also a Go tournament for players of all levels.

As usual, you can also borrow boardgames and in addition you can get the rules explained when you borrow certain games (for further information check out the program 'Boardgame demos').

There will also be some game design related programme. On Saturday a presentation will take place conserning typical game mechanical problems in boardgames (the presentation is in Finnish). After the presentation there's a Proto workshop where aspiring game designers can bring out their prototypes to be tested and commented.

A new addition is Scheduled games. The purpose is to set up board games the same way the RPG.s are scheduled. There will be games played at a certain time and pre-registration will be possible.
