Accessibility
Ropecon seeks to be a safe convention for all our attendees and take into account all our attendees’ different needs. You can find answers to different questions regarding accessibility on this page.
Accessibility
Guide- and other service dogs are welcome at the convention. We have strived to make all signs at the convention to be as clear as possible.
The northern entrance to Messukeskus has an automated door. Moving between floors, halls and the upper and lower galleries at the venue is done via lifts. The Wing has activities on two different floors that are both accessible via lift. The closest lift to the main hall is located behind an unautomated door, but our volunteers will be more than happy to assist opening it for you.
Accessible toilets at Messukeskus are located in the Wing, the Glass Gallery and close to the lower Gallery.
Restrooms
Restrooms at Ropecon are intended for all genders and they have been market with Ropecon’s own signs on top of the signs used by Messukeskus. There are enough restrooms at the convention venue, so that queues do not form.
The Quiet Room
Ropecon offers our attendees a quiet room where you can take a break and calm down and for sensorily hypersensitive people to calm down. Security checks in on the quiet room regularly to ensure that it remains calm and quiet for our attendees. The quiet room is located on the second floor of the Wing in room 216a. The room is open at all times during the convention.
Seating
There are seats located all over the convention venue. They are intended for the use of our attendees during the convention. The the program spaces some seating has armrests and some does not.
Program
All program organizers have been requested to speak into microphones so that they can be heard more clearly.
Please note however that individual program organizers may have reasons for choosing not to use a microphone during their program numbers. Rooms 3b and 3e have a hearing loop available for convention attendees.
Program organizers have been asked a variety of information regarding their program in advance. Every program number lists themes or topics at the end of their description that may cause our attendees distress. For example if the program number includes loud noises, strong odors or if the lighting in the space is dim. In addition to this any content warnings are listed at the end of the description.
Allergies
We recommend all convention attendees and volunteers to avoid wearing strong scents while at the convention. Additionally there is an area a little further away from the entrances to the convention, which is reserved for smoking.
Please do not warm any food items that contain fish in the microwave intended for convention attendees.
Guide- and other service dogs are the obly animals that are welcome at Messukeskus.
